Please watch Part 5 here: www.youtube.com The Archos 5 Internet Media Tablet with the Android software is a wonderful combination of a personal media player and miniature computer! It is literally like a netbook and has advanced capabilities beyond that of your typical media players. It is a lot bigger than the Zune HD and ipod touch 3g with a gorgeous 4.8′ screen. The SSID flash versions that come in 8, 16, 32gb are thin and lightweight. The hard drive models that start at 160gb and go up to 500gigs are a bit thicker obviously. The A5 IT is quite simply one of the best devices I have ever owned if not, THE best. It is not without it’s faults but it is really an amazing device. @malton13 If you do the market hack then you can get google maps (it doesn’t come pre installed). To me it’s a big difference.

Hey candy love your reviews! you helped me make my decision to pass on the ipod. One thing though have you had any issues with onscreen controls lagging while playing music or video? (Fast fowarding, rewinding, volume)
For the FM to work do you need to purchase a transmitter/receiver?
I’m ready to upgrade from my Archos 504 and having FM would be nice.

SO far I’m loving it, had a few problems but so far been able to figure them out on my own, now the real test will come later in the week when I’ll take it portable.
I’m already liking the far more diverse options then the Zune (I had the 120 GB, non-HD version of it)
The Zune works great, -when- it works, so I figured I’d possibly rather go for a flash player (instead of a hard drive one)
It seems flash-based ones don’t have as many headaches involved

People with the large hard drive versions of the Archos 5 have problems. The solid state drive ones the 16 & 32gb versions are a safer bet
Oh sorry for only one more question, I hope, these plugings you’re using are these the ones you have to pay for? ANd do you have to pay for the Gmail and YouTube apps?
thanks for all the fast responses, too, the background changing thing is a huge plus, my Zune is the only other portable player I know of that does it.
PS: I bet the ones who complain about crashing issues are probably trying to run way too many things at one time

you’re helping sell this, saw it at Best Buy and kinda wanted it but my roommate was messing with it and he crashed it trying ot view the vid’s, I don’t think they had teh plug-in installed properly
And I like how you can make a Wallpaper from a movie, can you make a wallpaper from just pictures, too?
